  • Frequently
    Asked Questions

    Are you a private clinic?

Agoo became a public clinic in September 2014. All of our medical services are covered by RAMQ. The only services that are charged are accessory fees for procedures, vaccins and visits with other healthcare professionals such as psychologists and physiotherapists.

Are ear piercings offered at AGOO?

We have certified nurses and nursing assistants who perform ear piercings on site. We also offer EMLA cream to numb the area.

Are blood tests covered by medicare?

Our nurses perform blood draws on site and these samples are analysed at CDL Labs at a cost. The cost varies according to the laboratory analyses performed. Please call us or email us your requisition to get a quote.

Is Dr.da Costa taking new patients?

Unfortunately, Dr.da Costa will not be accepting new patients as his practice is full for the moment. There is, however, a waitlist that you may add your child's name to.

I recently gave birth, how do I get access to an AGOO physician or my pediatrician is retiring, are any of your doctors accepting patients?

We currently have a wait list for check ups with a family doctor and we would be happy to add your child or children to this list. We are unable to confirm the wait times for appointments. Our wait list is long and our current wait time is approximately 6 months. However, our team is ever growing and we will have several new family doctors joining who are ready to take on new patients as of September 2016. As such, we predict that the wait times will likely drop. If your child needs to consult a specialist like a pediatrician for a specific issue, please send us a copy of the referral from your doctor.  Please note that exceptionally, newborns will be given priority on the wait list. If your child is a newborn, please let us know.

Curious Neuron: Where learning meets brain science

Curious Neuron is a specialized education program that merges brain science and learning. Our
preschool and student programs provide children with tools they need to become confident
learners. We do not tutor students on specific subjects, but rather help students build learning
strategies to help them with school.

Our programs offer the following services:

    Preschool Program
We create playbased activities to help children under the age of 6 meet milestones such as:
    ○ Identifying shapes
    ○ identifying colors
    ○ Identifying letters
    ○ First steps to writing letters and numbers
    ○ Difficulty following rules
    ○ Difficulty remembering details of stories
    ○ Children with low motivation or selfesteem (specific to learning)

    Student Program
If a student is struggling to achieve their full potential in school, we help them develop learning
strategies that are specific to their needs. We use the students homework and create
playbased activities to help them achieve their learning goal(s).

    If the student:
    ○ Struggles with school in general
    ○ Struggles with preparing for exams
    ○ Has difficulties organizing themselves and feels overwhelmed with school
    ○ Struggles with setting goals
    ○ Finds it difficult to stay motivated in school
    ○ Feels that their selfesteem and emotions get in the way of achievement in school
    ○ Finds it difficult to remember what they studied
    ○ Has difficulty judging how well they really understand something
    ○ Feels that they have not found the right learning strategies (studying, effective reading, linking info to prior knowledge etc)
    ○ Has difficulty solving problems
    ○ Feels that a recent diagnosis (ADHD, anxiety, Autism, etc.) is impeding their academic success

Provide a unique approach to health and wellness across the entire lifespan. They combine both an evidenced-based and holistic approach in order to help children and their parents reach their health goals.

The pediatric physical therapist specializes in the evaluation and treatment of:
    -        Motor developmental delays, these include all global motor skills that the child acquires over the first year of life in order to be able to control the neck, the arms, the legs and the trunk. These skills will help the child to roll, sit down, stand up and walk

Psychopedagogists work with children, adolescents and families that are experiencing a developmental delay in social-emotional skills. Psychopedagogists help identify unsolved problems and help resolve them collaboratively.

Psychopedagogists work closely with families and children that may or may not be diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Language Impairment.

The psychopedagogist’s approach builds emotional intelligence, by finding, and if necessary combining, holistic solutions, such as social-emotional learning, mindfulness and collaborative problem-solving. This process is based on prevention, as well as intervention, through individual and group programs.

    Interactive Play therapy:

We welcome all children and families that are interested to help foster emotional intelligence through play therapy. The room, as well as the programs themselves, are developed using evidence-based theory and research on interactive experiential play therapy.

My colleagues and I have worked very hard to build a medical center where children feel at home, in a pleasant environment but also trustworthy and effective for both doctors and parents.

On the professional side we are proud to say that agoo offers an amazing opportunity for medical specialists and other healthcare professionals to be part of a multidisciplinary team, working together in a single facility towards better patient management.  Please note that patients are never charged for registration or any services covered by medicare.

I invite physicians who wish to be part of a dynamic team to join us and benefit from a state-of-the-art health facility serving a huge population of suburban families. We are particularly interested in pediatricians, family doctors, adolescent medical specialists, otorhinolaryngologists, dermatologists, & ophthalmologists, but welcome anyone who feels they would like to share our vision of delivering above-average quality of care to our pediatric & adolescent patients.

Agoo offers electronic medical records (Medesync), spacious and child friendly offices and separate waiting rooms for sick children.

Furthermore, everyone at agoo is offered an excellent opportunity for top of the line clinical research, publications and conferences with all the support required on site.

Clinic hours are flexible and ideal for full or part-time availabilities including evenings and weekends. We offer opportunities for multi-discipline workshops, CPR accreditation, and many more as we are definitely interested in new concepts and ideas.

  • For appointments

My child is sick and I want to know the easiest way to get an emergency appointment, what should I do?

The number of emergency spots that are available each day can vary. We prioritize patients that are registered with family doctors at agoo for these spots. If there are many spots available, we then open up Bonjour-Santé for the public.

You can see if we have spots available by visiting the following website and entering the Agoo clinic name:

Our phone lines open at 8am 7 days a week. If your child is not a registered patient at agoo, we will put their name on a waitlist for an emergency appointment and give priority to registered patients. If there are still spots available, then you will get a call back just after 10am to book the emergency appointment. If you do not receive a call back, it is because all of the emergency spots have been filled for the day.

**Please note that we do not, under any circumstances, book emergency appointments via email.

I am a registered patient with Dr.Ludmila Kireva or Dr.Nicole Audet and I need to book a check-up with my child's family doctor, how do I do this?

For more information, please see the online booking page.

I booked an appointment on Bonjour-Santé with Dr.Ludmila Kireva or Dr.Nicole Audet and I would like to also have an appointment for vaccines at the same time, how do I do this?

Please notify one of the receptionists if you know that you would like vaccine appointments with your check ups. We will put a note in your file and make sure to book the appointment with vaccines every time. Otherwise, if there is no note in the file, you will receive a call from one of the receptionists if your child is due for vaccines at the time of your check up and you will be able to confirm whether or not you would like to also book a vaccine appointment.

If Dr.Audet and Dr.Kireva accept to see my other child and I would like to book their first time check up with them on Bonjour-Santé, can this be done?

First time visits with these doctors absolutely need to be booked either by phone or email. The first time visits are longer and a patient file needs to be created. We thank you for your understanding.
