Dr. Sampalis is founder and CEO of JSS Medical Research founded in 1997.
He is a tenured professor of Surgery and Medicine at McGill University, the University of Montreal and University of Laval. Throughout his career he has received numerous scholarships from provincial and federal funding agencies including the Medical Research Council of Canada, the National Health Development Program and the Fonds de la recherche en santé du Quebec. With over 200 peer-reviewed publications in high ranking journals and more than 15 million dollars in research funding, Dr. Sampalis is recognized as one of the top clinical epidemiologists in the world with extensive expertise in clinical trials, health services research, health economics and outcome assessment as well as biostatistics. He has been a leader in Real World Evidence with significant contributions in the methodology but also direct application of Real World Studies in charging health care practices and policies.
He has served as a consultant for numerous pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and government organizations and agencies.
Dr. Sampalis is currently a Fellow of the American College of Epidemiology and of the American heart Association.
He has been involved in Agoo since its founding by his beloved sister Dr. Tina Sampalis and is now taking on the responsibility of continuing her legacy and ensuring that Agoo will thrive and achieve the potential that was Tina’s vision.
