Dr. Derek da Costa earned his medical degree at McGill University and has been practicing as a family doctor in emergency medicine and pediatrics since 1989. He currently practices at the ER at St. Mary's Hospital as well as at Agoo Health and Wellness Center where he follows children. Prior to studying medicine, Dr. da Costa earned a Bachelor's of Science degree also from McGill University in Physiology. He also pursued graduate studies in Neurophysiology in the United States. When not seeing patients, he remains involved in Medical Education as an assistant professor at McGill, an Osler Fellow and an LMCC/OSCE examiner. He has also moderated several Continuing Medical Education (CME) conferences and is a clinical investigator at the MUHC Vaccine Study Centre.
